This is the autobiography of the highest-ranking non-Japanese JKA master: Stan Smith, 7th Dan, Chief Instructor of the JKA South African and Africa JKA karate organzations. In this work, granted Shihan Stan Schmidt insight the reader into his life and shares his experience from 40 years of karate practice, which he coached that in Japan most of the time, with him, and tells about the karate scene in times of apartheid. As a graduate of the famous class of instructor of the JKA in Tokyo, trainerte and he fought with Japan's Karate elite, and is today only non-Japanese member of the World Shihankai, the Panel of the Grand Master.
