Swiss Dagger by Böker

The Swiss dagger (often called Baselard) was a popular weapon with the Swiss pikemen throughout the 15th and 16th centuries. Swiss daggers were not usually issued as ordinance weapons, but purchased privately by soldiers as secondary weapons. The Boker Swiss Dagger's characteristic hilt features the same crescent-shaped pommel and crossguard as the original daggers, but now feature rust resistant stainless steel instead of iron. Their curved shape appeared as early as the 13th century and remained unique to Switzerland. This distinctive hilt design can be recognized in many of Hans Holgein's works, which is why the Swiss dagger was sometimes referred to as a Holbein dagger. The handle on the Boker Swiss dagger is made of hand selected cherry wood, and the high carbon steel dagger blade has an impressive length of 8 5/8 and is satin finished. The blade is marked with the authentic Boker logo, which was used throughout the 1930's in Solingen. The marking Deutschland (Germany) and a serial number on the reverse side of the blade guarantee the same high quality on every knife that leaves our factory. The Swiss dagger includes an original metal sheath, which is reminiscent of the 15th and 16th centuries.

Chain shirt with black rings by Haller

The chainmail (the armor) has already been known in approaches from ancient times and evolved over the Celtic, Germanic and Viking Age as a particularly esteemed body protection, a sword blow often withstood. The chain shirt has the advantage that it adapts to the body of a normal breastplate. So you could also sit comfortably on the horse. Therefore, the chain shirt had side slits. In a chainmail approximately 20,000 rings were processed. It can be seen that only wealthy could afford such a fighter body protection. In the 12th and 13th centuries, the sleeves were longer and also included gloves. Against crossbow projectiles and blows with lances the chain mail could not provide adequate protection. Even against the emerging firearms, the chain mail had no chance. The production of a chain mail takes about 11 to 12 working days.

The chain shirt with black rings are only available in a size about XL (dress size 56-58) corresponds.

Charlemagne, Carolus Magnus, Charles the Great, king of Franks and Emperor of Western Europe, was born in 742 A.D. and became a famous commander and one of the great centers of power of history: The Sacred Roman Empire.
Charlemagne's empire was based on the fighting strength of the Franks, a confederation of barbarian tribes from the land of the Rhin in Germany. They fulfiled the emptiness of power after the fall of the Roman Empire. Their insatiable ambition, sometimes increased due to the goal of extending Christendom, led them to France, Germany, Italy and many other territories. An agressive conqueror, wise politician, stateman and fortunate general, Charlemagne set the shape of the vast empire that, in different ways, has reached the XX century.
