The present volume is the first in a series of five in which the 25 Shotokan katas are described in detail. Editor of this series is the Shihankai of the Japan Karate Association. Under the direction of Sugiura Sensei, the Sensei worked with Shoji, Muslim, Tanaka, Ohishi, IDA, and Osaka.
