This impressive footage dates from the 1940s and 1950s.

This video shows the founder of Shotokan karate along with Isao Obata at the demonstration by Ippon Kumite techniques. This classic footage was up to date has never published. It originally comes from the archives of the JKA and was filmed before the JKA was formed. Pre-JKA master, such as for example Nakayama, Kanazawa, Okuzaki, and Nishiyama have executed these techniques in their teenage years and the beginning of the 1920s.
